Finally on a vacation somewhere where it isn't raining but without a car of my own, a clue, or headphones. Sweet, sweet headphones. Maybe I could get a room for myself. Three rooms down. No. Four. I want another floor altogether. A floor all to myself. Dawn's floor. That's... what I want.

He was compelled to go. It seems weird to ask. [ What could've happened? It was only a few months. There's still their ended relationship over his affair with Anna. OK, kiss. ] Ever since he and Anna... it's not like we're close.

Maybe not. But he still probably wants to see you now that he's been de-compelled.

[ She nods, knowing this. ] Can you hear anything else useful?

Mostly small talk. Nothing really interesting.

[ She nods, handing Caroline the pool cue. ] It's still your turn.

[She nods before turning to take her shot.]

What do you think of them? Buffy and everybody.

I like Willow. [ She's the only one that didn't treat anyone like def con one. ] I don't know if I trust her, but she's definitely the friendliest. I liked Anna. Buffy... I keep thinking she's going to go after Stefan and Damon. Why is she still here?

I don't know. And I wish she would just leave already.

Damon is a lot of things, but he doesn't need a babysitter. [ Not one they don't trust. ]

[Caroline isn't entirely sold on that idea, because maybe if Damon had a baby sitter he wouldn't have done to her what he did, but she keeps her mouth shut about it. That's water under the bridge.

Though on the other hand ... ]

How many people in this town has Damon killed since he got here a year ago?

You know what I mean. Damon is unpredictable. I'd rather Stefan keep him in line than a militant vampire hater. Not that vampires are my favorite people. But, Damon steps one foot outside the line? I'll be there. And he knows that.

[Caroline's lips press together, before she shakes her head.]

You're right. I know, I just ... wonder if that's really enough.

Maybe it's not. But, is Buffy the vampire slayer the answer?

... I don't know. I don't know. But I don't think someone who isn't charmed by Damon is a bad person to have around.

[unbalancer]

I thought you weren't her biggest fan...

I'm not!

[she takes a breath.]

I'm not. But I'm not saying that Damon doesn't need a stronger leash either.

[ Bonnie was better at being his leash last year. And she gets it. Caroline would want him to have one. ]

We'll find a better one. One we trust.

[She takes a deep breath before nodding.]

Right. One that isn't stake happy.

[unbalancer]

Or, one who's only stake-happy for Damon.

[she brightens a bit.]
